Women's tennis has enjoyed a history of success since reaching varsity status in 1974, winning seven league championships and two Midwest Conference titles. A member of the Midwest Conference since 1983, the Vikings had finished among the top four teams at the league tournament eight times by 1994, winning 13 singles championships and six doubles crowns in that span. Lawrence posted a second-place finish in 2008, with Beth Larson winning the No. 1 singles championship.
