A solid and steady performer since being elevated to varsity status in 1982, the women's soccer program has been one of the top teams in the Midwest Conference over the past decade. Lawrence captured the Midwest Conference championship in 2000 and won MWC Tournament titles in 2000 and 2001. The Vikings played in the NCAA Division III Tournament in 2000 and 2001, and Lawrence was the first MWC team ever to win a NCAA Tournament game. The Vikings play a schedule against conference opponents as well as teams from outside the conference, including Division III opponents from the Wisconsin state university system. The season culminates with a four-team conference tournament held in early November.
