Wheaton College Invitational (February 2-3, 2001)
The Vikings finished tenth in the 26-team field.
Ross Mueller won the championship at 174 pounds. Mueller pinned Matt Cobb of Missouri Valley in 4:04 in the championship match. Mueller defeated Ben Bly of the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse 3-2 in the semifinals. In the quarterfinals, Mueller beat Ohio Northern's Josh DeMarco 4-0. After receiving a first-round bye, Mueller pinned Chris Bonati of Mount St. Joseph in 1:58 in the second round.
Andy Kazik took second at 184 after renewing his battle with the defending national champion, Jeremy Miller of the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. Miller beat Kazik 4-3 in the title match. Kazik reached the finals with a technical fall over Bill Kopecky of the University of Chicago. Kazik beat Josh Jackson of the University of Indianapolis 11-4 in the second round and followed that up with a 10-3 win over Mark Rakoczy of Manchester College in the quarterfinals.

Private Colleges Championships at Lawrence University (January 20, 2001)
Lawrence won the six-team invitational with 118 points. Milwaukee School of Engineering was second with 74.5. Maranatha Baptist was third with 47.5, followed by Concordia (Wis.) University 39.5, Lakeland College 34, and the University of St. Thomas 24.5.
Lawrence's Andy Kazik and Lakeland's Chris Desterheff were named the tournament's outstanding wrestlers.
Lawrence's Nick Morphew won the title at 125 pounds. He defeated Brian Utke of Concordia 2-0 in the championship match. Ric Scannell claimed the title at 149 with a 6-0 victory over Concordia's Jeremy Fischer in the final. Greg Goska won the title for Lawrence at 165 with an 8-2 victory over Luke Kinney of Maranatha in the title match. Lawrence's Ross Mueller was the champ at 174 after he defeated Jeff Zastrow of Lakeland 7-2 in the final. Kazik was a perfect 3-0 in the round-robin format at 184 to take the championship.
In a round-robin format at 133 pounds, Lawrence's Aaron Guigar placed second by posting a 2-1 record. Darren Lichterman took third for the Vikes at 141, also wrestled round robin. He finished with a 1-2 mark. Brian Branchford placed second at 157 for Lawrence after dropping a 14-7 decision to MSOE's John Knowles in the championship match. Lawrence's Justin Seaman took second at 197 after losing 6-3 to Matt Huset of MSOE in the final.
Budd Whitehill Division III National Dual Championships (January 12, 2001)
Lawrence lost its opening match to Loras College 21-15. The Vikings dropped into the consolation bracket and defeated Baldwin-Wallace 33-6. Lawrence then defeated Norwich College 28-13.
The Vikings faced SUNY-Oswego in the consolation bracket on the second day of the tournament and dropped a 21-19 decision.

Simpson College Invitational (January 6, 2001)
Lawrence finished second with 118 points in the nine-team event. Simpson took the title with 143.5 points. Four Lawrence wrestlers advanced to the championship matches of their weight classes, and heavyweight Scott Fischer walked away with a title.
Fischer pinned Chris Ripley of Williams in 3:07 to win the heavyweight title.
Nick Morphew placed second at 125 pounds after losing to Daniel Jacobs of Williams in the title match. Aaron Guigar took second at 133, getting pinned by Charles Danhof of Williams in the championship bout. Darrin Lichterman placed fifth at 141, defeating Jesse Zugein of Central Missouri State 3-2 in the title match.
Ric Scannell placed second at 149, falling to Lonnis Jordan of Wartburg 6-3 in the title match. Mike Nickel took third at 157, defeating Matt Rudd of Central Missouri 14-3 in the third-place match. Greg Goska placed fifth at 165, beating Corey Reinig of Wartburg 3-0 in the match for fifth place.
Andy Kazik placed third at 184. Kazik beat Fritz Dorisca of William Penn 6-4 for third place. Justin Seaman was also third at 197. Seaman defeated Andy Fecht of Wartburg 9-2 for third place.
Florida Duals at Orlando, Fla. (December 29-30, 2000)
The Vikings finished 14th in the 28-team event by posting a 2-3 record.
On the opening day, Lawrence defeated Mount St. Joseph College 20-18. Aaron Guigar (133 pounds), Darrin Lichterman (141), Ross Mueller (174), Andy Kazik (184), and Justin Seaman (197) all got wins for the Vikings. Ithaca College, ranked 15th in the latest coaches poll, beat the Vikings 20-19 with Guigar, Ric Scannell (149), Mueller, Kazik, and Seaman all earning victories. Buena Vista University, ranked 24th in the coaches poll, later defeated the Vikings 31-10, with Scannell, Mueller, and Kazik all winning by decision for Lawrence.
Lawrence split a pair of matches on the final day of the tournament. The Vikings tied the 26th-ranked University of Wisconsin-Whitewater 20-20, but Lawrence was awarded the victory under NCAA rules because it had won more matches. Nick Morphew (125), Mike Nickel (157), Mueller, Kazik, Seaman, and Scott Fischer (heavyweight) all won decisions for the Vikings. The State University of New York-Oswego, ranked 20th in the poll, beat the Vikings 23-13. Guigar and Mueller both won by decision, and Kazik picked up a pin against Oswego.

Lawrence University Invitational (December 2, 2000)
The Vikings won the team title and claimed four individual titles. Lawrence amassed 92.5 points for the championship, and the University of Wisconsin-Platteville was second with 58.
Lawrence's Andy Kazik won the title at 184 pounds with a 13-5 win over Mike Farchione of the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh. Kazik was also named the tournament's outstanding wrestler. Ross Mueller beat Lakeland College's Jeff Zastrow 9-3 for the championship at 174. Justin Seaman defeated Oshkosh's Eric Maloney 6-3 for the title at 197, and Scott Fischer beat Lakeland's Chris Desterheft 4-3 in double overtime for the championship at heavyweight.
Also placing for Lawrence were: Nick Morphew (second, 125), Mike Nickel (second, 157), Greg Goska (third, 165), Mark Schmoll (third, 197), and Brian Branchford (fourth, 149).
Lawrence University Duals (December 1, 2000)

The Vikings won all but three matches in defeating the Pioneers. Lawrence heavyweight Scott Fischer pinned Platteville's Zach Bowgren in ten seconds to highlight Lawrence's wins. Also winning for the Vikings were Sam Buckett (149), Mike Nickel (157), Greg Goska (165), Ross Mueller (174), Andy Kazik (184), and Justin Seaman (197).

In the other match of the evening, Platteville beat UW-Oshkosh 30-12.
Lawrence University at Coe College Invitational (November 18, 2000)
The Vikings won three individual titles and had several other wrestlers place in the top six. Nick Morphew beat Grant Strickland of Truman State 6-0 for the championship at 125 pounds. Ross Mueller took the title at 174 when he pinned Carl Sweinton of Augustana in 1:45. Andy Kazik was the champion at 184 after a 7-3 victory over Justin Dix of Cornell.
Darrin Lichterman beat Kane Thompson of Coe 4-3 for fifth place at 141. Ric Scannell defeated Tony Lecuyer of Waubonsee 5-4 for fifth at 149.
Lawrence University at University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point Open (November 11, 2000)
The Vikings had several wrestlers place in the top six in the tournament, which was split into gold and silver divisions. In the gold division, Andy Kazik placed fourth at 184 pounds and Ross Mueller took sixth at 174. In the silver division, Nick Morphew was fifth at 125, Aaron Guigar took sixth at 133, and Dan Adamski placed sixth at 149.
University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh at Lawrence University (November 3, 2000)
The Vikings defeated the Titans 30-9. Nick Morphew (125), Aaron Guigar (133), Dan Adamski (149), Mike Nickel (157), Ross Mueller (174), Andy Kazik (184), and Mike Mitty (heavyweight) all earned wins for Lawrence.
