APPLETON, Wis. -- Erin Lind scored 23 points and grabbed nine rebounds Saturday to lead the Ripon College women's basketball team to a 68-51 Midwest Conference win over Lawrence University at Alexander Gymnasium.
Lind hit 9 of 13 shots from the floor to pace the Red Hawks (17-6, 13-3 MWC), who shot 51.9 percent from the floor for the game. Jessica DeHamer added 10 points for Ripon.
Katie Van Es scored 11 points and grabbed eight rebounds for Lawrence (3-20, 0-16). Laura Aerts added 10 points, three rebounds, three assists and three steals for the Vikings.
Lawrence fell behind early and wasn't able to recover. Ripon jumped out to a 12-2 lead with 14:07 left in the first half and would build that lead to 13 points before Lawrence rallied.
The Vikings went on a 7-0 run, capped by Sam Nimmer's 3-pointer, to cut the lead to 17-11 with 7:47 left in the first half. The Red Hawks recovered and went on a 9-0 run to finish the first half, and Ripon led 37-19 at the break.
Ripon quickly expanded that lead 53-19 by the 13:06 mark in the second half. Lawrence never got closer than the final margin of 17 points.
