RIPON, Wis. -- The Ripon College women's basketball team raced out to a big early lead and went on to a 71-44 Midwest Conference victory over Lawrence University Wednesday night at the Storzer Center.
Lawrence (2-13, 0-9 MWC) scored only 15 first-half points, and Ripon (12-4, 8-1) led by 25 points at the break.
Erin Lind led Ripon with 18 points, and Carissa Zuercher and Jessica DeHamer added 12 points apiece. Cathy Kaye and Kanesha Walker scored 10 points apiece to lead the Vikings.
Ripon scored the game's first nine points, and Lawrence wasn't able to get on the board until Kaye's jumper with 16:50 left in the first half.
Ripon led by as many as 37 points in the second half.
Lawrence returns to action on Saturday when it hosts Carroll University.
