DE PERE, Wis. -- The St. Norbert College women's basketball team got off to a good start Tuesday and never looked back en route to an 84-42 Midwest Conference victory over Lawrence University.
Rachel Hermus led four St. Norbert players in double figures with 12 points. Denise Heuser added 11 points, and Stefanie Bunday and Krista Pelky had 10 points apiece. Bunday also had game highs with eight rebounds and eight assists.
Laura Aerts paced Lawrence (0-18, 0-11 MWC) with 15 points, and Erin Henzi added 11 points and seven rebounds.
The Green Knights (14-4, 10-1) scored the first six points of the game and were off and running. Midway through the first half, St. Norbert held a 20-10 edge.
The Vikings got baskets from Henzi and Aerts to trim the lead to 20-13 with 7:47 left, but St. Norbert finished the first half on a 20-9 run and led 40-22 at the break.
St. Norbert's biggest lead of the game was the final margin of 42 points, accounted for by a 3-pointer in the final seconds.
Lawrence hits the road this weekend when it travels to Illinois College and Knox College.
