RIPON, Wis. -- The Lawrence University women's basketball team finished its season on Saturday with a 60-45 Midwest Conference loss at Ripon College.
Erin Henzi paced Lawrence (0-23, 0-16 MWC) and tied for game-high scoring honors with 14 points. Laura Aerts added 10 points and six rebounds for the Vikings.
Heidi Baerenwald led Ripon (15-8, 12-4) with 14 points and Erin Lind added 11.
The game was tied at 9-9 when Lawrence outscored Ripon 7-2 over the next four minutes. Katie Condon's jumper gave Larence a 16-11 lead with 8:20 left in the first half. Ripon countered by scoring the game's next five points to tie it at 16-16.
The teams traded the lead until Ripon took the lead for good at 22-21 on Baerenwald's jumper wth 3:22 left. Ripon led 28-24 at the half.
The Vikings trailed 34-32 after Mara Hagopian's 3-pointer with 15:07 left in the contest. Ripon then started to take control by scoring the game's next 10 points.
The Red Hawks capped that run with a Baerenwald free throw to lead 44-32 with 10:53 left. The Vikings could get no closer than 10 points the rest of the way.
