APPLETON, Wis. -- The Beloit College women's basketball team gradually pulled away on Wednesday and posted a 58-36 Midwest Conference victory over Lawrence University in the home season finale for the Vikings.
Erin Henzi paced Lawrence (0-22, 0-15 MWC) with 11 points. Laura Aerts turned in another solid all-around game with seven points, eight rebounds and two assists.
Christine Brown paced the Bucs (15-8, 12-4) with 12 points and eight rebounds. Mary Parker added 10 points, and Sarah Stariha had a game-high five assists.
The Bucs jumped out to a 10-0 lead, but Lawrence battled back. The Vikings scored the game's next 13 points, capped by Aerts' 3-pointer, to take a 13-10 lead with 10:58 remaining in the first half.
Beloit took the lead back for good at 15-13 on Stariha's three-point play with 8:35 left. The Bucs finished the first half on a 16-3 run and lead 28-16 at the break.
Beloit gradually pulled away in the second half, and Lawrence got no closer than 13 points after the break. The Bucs led by as many as 26 points.
Lawrence wraps up its season when it plays at Ripon College on Saturday.
