STEVENS POINT, Wis. -- A big run in the final 10 minutes of the first half staked the UW-Stevens Point women's basketball team to a big lead, and the Pointers rolled to a 90-37 nonconference win over Lawrence University on Saturday.
Lawrence (3-4) scored the first seven points of the game against the 20th-ranked Pointers (7-1), but Stevens Point stormed back and led 21-17 after Carrie Van Groll's basket for the Vikings with 11:22 left in the first half.
Stevens Point finished the half on a 19-5 run and led 42-22 at the break. Lawrence never got closer than 22 points in the second half.
Caresse Reiland had 12 points, eight rebounds, and four blocks to pace the Vikings. Van Groll had a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds.
Four players had eight points apiece to lead Stevens Point, which saw all 16 players who got into the game score.
