JACKSONVILLE, Ill. -- The Lawrence University women's basketball team rallied from a double-digit second-half deficit before Illinois College pulled away for a 76-67 Midwest Conference win Friday night at Sherman Gymnasium.
Kelly Mulcahy scored 24 points and Caresse Reiland had 23 to pace Lawrence (4-10, 1-6 MWC). Rachel Macon scored 17 points to lead Illinois College (8-6, 3-3).
Illinois College led by as many as 11 points early in the second half, and the Lady Blues were still up by eight with 8:26 left when the Vikings rallied.
Lawrence went on a 11-2 run to take a 60-59 lead with 5:56 remaining. Freshman Annie Kaiser scored five points in that stretch and Mulcahy added four.
Illinois College came right back with a 10-0 run of its own to go up 69-60. The Vikings never got closer than seven points after that.
Lawrence wraps up its weekend road trip at Grinnell College on Saturday.
