Kathleen Rowland, Volleyball
Kathleen Rowland helped Lawrence to a pair of victories and was named the Midwest Conference Defensive Player of the Week. A senior defensive specialist from Champaign, Ill, Rowland piled up 51 digs in two matches at the MSOE Triangular on Sept. 4. In a 3-1 win over Wisconsin Lutheran, Rowland had a season-high 29 digs and added a season-high five service aces. Rowland then picked up 22 digs and had a pair of service aces in Lawrence’s 3-1 win over MSOE.
Terese Swords, Volleyball

Terese Swords led Lawrence to a pair of wins at the MSOE Triangular on Sept. 4 and was named the Midwest Conference Offensive Player of the Week. A sophomore outside hitter from Evanston, Ill., Swords hit .380 and piled up 30 kills in two matches. In a 3-1 victory against MSOE, Swords had 20 kills and only one attack error in 38 attempts for an impressive .500 hitting percentage. In Lawrence's 3-1 win over Wisconsin Lutheran, Swords had 10 kills and a solid .242 hitting percentage. She also added eight digs and a pair of blocks in the two matches.

Jonah Laursen, Cross Country
Jonah Laursen finished second at the Tom Barry Invitational on Aug. 31 and was named the Midwest Conference Performer of the Week. A sophomore from Traverse City, Mich., Laursen covered the four-mile course at Colburn Park in Green Bay, Wis., in 20:52.6. He ran nearly a minute faster than he did at the same meet as a freshman in 2012. Led by Laursen, Lawrence finished fourth in the team standings with 111 points. This marks the first time in his career that Laursen has earned the conference’s weekly honor.
Anna Ratliff, Cross Country

Anna Ratliff posted the second-best finish of her career to lead Lawrence at the Tom Barry Invitational on Aug. 31. A senior from Elmhurst, Ill., Ratliff finished 16th and covered the 5,000-meter course in 20:20.7. Ratliff ran more than a minute faster at this meet than she did in 2012. Ratliff led a pack of the five scoring runners for Lawrence that were separated by just seven places.
