The Vikings practice and compete in the Boldt Natatorium at the Buchanan Kiewit Center at the heart of campus. Opened in January 1986, the pool is considered the finest facility in the conference and is one of the fastest pools in the entire Midwest. One of the finest aquatic facilities anywhere, it features an eight-lane pool with a state of the art Colorado timing system and an eight-lane display board, a moveable bulkhead that allows the course  to be in either yards or meters, a separate16 ft deep diving well  with two one-meter and one three-meter diving boards (with surface bubblers for each board), an underwater sound system, and an underwater observation window for videotaping and stroke critique.  The best parts about the facility are its great air ventilation, ideal water temperature for competition and outstanding lighting.  Training spirits run very high when the environment is as good as it is in Boldt Natatorium.
