Ryan Kane enters his first season with the Lawrence University men’s basketball coaching staff in 2007-08. Prior to his arrival at Lawrence, Kane spent four years as an assistant coach at Dominican University (River Forest, IL), a member of the NCAA Division III Northern Athletics Conference, and one year as the head freshman boy’s coach at Ashwaubenon High School. During his tenure at Dominican the Stars were just one of 16 Division III men's basketball programs to improve their record for each of the last four seasons. Kane’s responsibilities with the program included film exchange, scouting, recruiting, and perimeter player development. In 2006-07 Dominican posted a 17-10 record which was the school’s best record since 1991-92.
Kane received his bachelor’s degree in Communications from St. Norbert College in 1999 where he was a three-year letter winner on the basketball team as well as a four-year letter winner in golf and two-time captain. In 1998-99 SNC posted their best record in 17 years and Kane received the Most Improved Player award. In 2007 Kane received a master’s degree in Sports Administration from Valparaiso University.
