TUCSON, Ariz. -- The Lawrence University softball team droped a pair of games on Wednesday, falling 8-0 to Luther College and 13-4 to Eastern Oregon University, with both games going five innings.
Luther needed only six hits to score eight times, as Lawrence starter Alex Goodson issued 10 walks in 4.2 innings.
The Norse went up 4-0 with three runs in the second, as Anna Simonson delivered a two-run double. Luther ended the game with four runs in the bottom of the fifth. Kim Hess and Simonson both had two-run singles in the inning.
Eastern Oregon pounded out 10 hits and took advantage of four Lawrence errors. Megan Monaghan paced the Mountaineers by going 2-for-2 with two runs scored and four RBIs.
Eastern Oregon scored three times in the first and second to take control of the game. After adding a pair of runs in the third, the Mountaineers scored five times in the bottom of the fourth.
Carrie Van Groll led Lawrence (3-5) by going 2-for-2.
Lawrence ends its spring break trip on Thursday with games against Gustavus Adolphus College and Taylor University.
