DE PERE, Wis. -- The Lawrence University men's basketball team had a frigid shooting night and No. 14 St. Norbert College topped the Vikings 68-50 in a Midwest Conference game Saturday at Schuldes Sports Center.
Chris Peterson led St. Norbert (20-2, 14-1 MWC) with 15 points, and James Pfitzinger added 11. John Dekker paced Lawrence (10-11, 7-7) with 12 points, and Jon Mays added nine.
Lawrence shot only 32.8 percent (20-61) from the floor for the game. The Vikings hit on only 2 of 14 shots (14.3 percent) from 3-point range.
St. Norbert scored the first 10 points of the game and didn't look back. Lawrence never got closer than five points, and St. Norbert led by as many as 14 points in the first half.
The Green Knights, who led 32-20 at the break, increased the lead to 25 points less than six minutes into the second half. St. Norbert would lead by as many as 27 points in the second half.
Lawrence returns to action Wednesday when it travels to Beloit College.
