MONMOUTH, Ill. -- The Lawrence University men's basketball team put together a balanced attack and rolled to an 89-65 Midwest Conference victory at Monmouth College on Saturday.
Erik Borresen paced Lawrence (7-8, 4-4 MWC) with a career-high 19 points and nine rebounds.
Dustin Lee added 17 points and hit all four of hits from the floor and all came from beyond the 3-point line. John Dekker chipped in with 14 points and Jon Mays had 11.
Zach Ott paced Monmouth (3-12, 2-6) with 17 points and Bryce Donaldson added 16.
Lawrence led by as many as 11 points in the first half, but Monmouth battled back and took a 50-49 lead with 14:04 left in the game.
Dekker countered with a 3-pointer, and the Vikings got the lead back for good. Lawrence was up 63-58 with 8:01 left, and Lawrence then went on an 9-0 run over the next 2:48.
Monmouth didn't get closer than 14 points after that.
The Scots were whistled for three technical fouls in the contest, and Monmouth coach Mark Vershaw was ejected.
Lawrence returns to action on Wednesday when it travels to Ripon College.\
