STEVENS POINT, Wis. -- A rough shooting night doomed the Lawrence University men's basketball team in a 75-56 to No. 4 UW-Stevens Point on Saturday night.
The Vikings (4-1) hit on only 1 of 15 3-point attempts on the evening but had been shooting 43 percent from beyond the arc heading into the game.
Andy Hurley paced Lawrence, as he turned in a double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds. Ryan Kroeger added 11 points and Doug Kadison had 10. Steve Hicklin paced four Stevens Point (5-1) players in double figures with 16 points.
The game was even through the first five-plus minutes, but the Pointers went on a 15-0 run to take a 23-8 lead. The Pointers led by as many as 22 points in the first half, but the Vikings finished the half on a 12-2 run to trim the margin to 38-26 at the break.
Stevens Point scored the first five points of the second half, and Lawrence never got closer than 13 points the rest of the way.
