MONMOUTH, Ill. -- Doug Kadison scored 19 points to pace five Lawrence University men's basketball players in double figures, as the Vikings beat Monmouth College 90-75 in a Midwest Conference game on Saturday.
Kadison's career high came on 7 of 9 shooting from the floor, including 3 of 5 from 3-point range. Ryan Kroeger added 17 points for Lawrence (4-0, 2-0 MWC), John Dekker had 16, Andy Hurley had 15, and Chris Page had 12. Hurley also pulled down a team-high seven rebounds.
Alex Tanney scored a game-high 21 points to pace Monmouth (0-5, 0-2).
Lawrnece led by 10 points at the break, but the Scots managed to cut that lead in half when Kyle Cook's layup made it 56-51 with 14:41 remaining. That's as close as the Scots would get.
Hurley, Page, and Tommy Schmidt all scored to spark a 6-0 run by the Vikings to increase the lead to 62-51. Monmouth got a bucket from Joe Terwelp, but Dekker buried a 3-pointer and Lawrence's lead dipped below double digits only once the rest of the way.
Lawrence takes its unbeaten record to UW-Stevens Point next Saturday for a nonconference game.
