APPLETON, Wis. -- The Lawrence University men's basketball team put on a long-range shooting display on Saturday and routed Knox College 90-54 in a Midwest Conference game at Alexander Gymnasium.
Lawrence (10-1, 6-0 MWC) hit 15 of 23 (65.2 percent) shots from beyond the 3-point arc, as three Vikings finished in double figures. John Dekker paced Lawrence with 16 points and was 4-for-6 on 3-pointers. Ryan Kroeger added 13 points and Ben Rosenblatt had 11. Both Rosenblatt and Kroeger were 3-for-4 on 3-pointers.
The Vikings were on fire in the first half, going 10-for-13 (76.9 percent) on 3-pointers in the opening 20 minutes. Lawrence led 15-9 and then went on a 23-2 run to take a 38-11 lead with 4:13 left in the first half.
Kroeger scored eight points in that stretch and Rosenblatt and Dylan Fogel added six points apiece.
Lawrence led 42-22 at the break, and the Praire Fire could get no closer than 16 points in the second half. The Vikings led by as many as 38 points in the second half.
Rusty Baker paced Knox (3-10, 2-4) with 12 points, and Grant Kluge added 10.
Lawrence returns to action Tuesday when it hosts No. 16 UW-Oshkosh.
