ADRIAN, Mich. -- Adrian College scored four times in the first 15:09 of the game and went on to an 8-2 Midwest College Hockey Association win Saturday afternoon over Lawrence University in front of a sellout crowd.
Blake Barkwell, Kyle Gallinger, Eric Roman and Kyle Frieday all scored in the opening period for the Bulldogs (14-3-0, 12-0-0 MCHA)..
Jon Bellotti scored on a penalty shot for Lawrence (7-8-1, 6-4-1), and Chris Sims scored his first career goal.
The Bulldogs were up 6-0 when Bellotti scored on the penalty shot with 15:11 elapsed in the second period. Sims scored early in the third to cut Adrian's lead to 6-2.
Evan Johnson allowed six goals and took the loss for Lawrence. Brad Fogal stopped 25 shots to pick up the win.
