CROOKSTON, Minn. -- The Lawrence University hockey team posted a 2-0 shutout at the University of Minnesota-Crookston Friday night in a Midwest Collegiate Hockey Association game the Crookston Civic Center.
Lawrence has won all three games vs. the Golden Eagles this season and all have been shutouts. The Vikings won 5-0 and 8-0 at home back in November.
A pair of freshmen did the scoring for Lawrence (10-9-1, 10-4-1 MCHA).
With only 53 seconds left in the first period, defenseman Jameson Raymond took a pass from Marc Howe and beat Bryan Dalbec to give Lawrence a 1-0 lead.
At 5:20 of the second period, Jon Bellotti scored off assists from two more freshmen, Sam Johnson and Ben DiMarco, to give Lawrence a 2-0 edge.
Evan Johnson made 20 saves to pick up his fifth shutout of the season. Dalbec made 37 saves for Crookston (3-17-0, 3-12-0).
Lawrence posted a 39-20 edge in shots and was whistled for only two penalties.
The teams wrap up the series Saturday afternoon.
