APPLETON, Wis. -- The Marian University hockey team got a short-handed goal and a power-play tally in a four-minute stretch in the second half and went on to a 2-0 Midwest Collegiate Hockey Association victory over Lawrence University on Friday night.
Jason Jadczak stopped 25 shots to pick up the shutout for Marian (10-6-2, 10-3-0 MCHA). The loss snaps Lawrence's school-record nine-game MCHA winning streak.
In a game that saw only four penalties, James Goodfellow scored a short-handed goal at 11:16 of the second period to give the Sabres a 1-0 lead.
After Jon Sheridan was whistled for roughing at 15:09, Brendan Hull scored on the power play just 21 seconds later to put Marian up 2-0.
Evan Johnson made 26 saves and took the loss for Lawrence.
