APPLETON, Wis. -- The Finlandia University hockey team scored the game's first seven goals and rolled to a 7-2 Midwest Collegiate Hockey Association victory Saturday afternoon at the Appleton Family Ice Center.
The Lions (8-5-2, 7-3-0 MCHA) got a pair of goals from Josh Paquette, who also added a pair of assists. Marc Marcotte had three assists for the Lions.
Lawrence (4-9-1, 4-6-0) got third-period goals from Nick Jennette and Marc Howe. Both players assisted on each other goals.
The Lions scored early in both of the first two periods, but only led 2-0 late in the second. Ross Rouleau and Matt Manninen then scored at 14:32 and 16:35, respectively, in the second period to give the Lions some breathing room.
Finlandia then added three goals in the first 10:39 of the third period to seal the victory.
Lukas Alberer made 20 saves to get the win for Finlandia. Jim Ryan and Riley Stank combined for 33 saves for Lawrence.
