APPLETON, Wis. -- The Lawrence University hockey team fired 52 shots on Friday, but the Vikings couldn't find the back of the net in a 3-0 Midwest Collegiate Hockey Association loss to Concordia University of Wisconsin.
Falcons goalie Alexander Koeppen stopped all 52 shots, and Concordia (2-14-0) got a pair of goals from Evan Ptachick.
Jonathan Smith got the Falcons started with a power-play goal at 14:43 of the first period. Ptachick scored at 2:03 of the second period and added an empty-net goal with 1:02 left in the third period.
Evan Johnson made 26 saves for Lawrence in the loss.
