Adrian holds off Vikings

ADRIAN, Mich. -- The Adrian College hockey team hung on for a 4-3 Midwest Collegiate Hockey Association win over Lawrence University on Saturday night.

The Bulldogs survived an extra attacker on the ice and a late penalty to complete a weekend sweep of the Vikings.

Adrian led 3-1 before Nick Jennette scored his third goal of the season at 12:39 of the second period to cut the lead in half. The Bulldogs struck back at 13:24 of the third period, as Adam Krug completed a hat trick to give Adrian a 4-2 edge.

Billy Siers answered for Lawrence a little more than two minutes later when he scored off assists from Marc Howe and Josh Peterson.

The Vikings then pulled goaltender Evan Johnson with 1:22 left, and Krug was penalized for tripping with 52 seconds left in the game. The Bulldogs were able to kill off the final minute of the contest and hang on for the victory.

Bryan Scott made 18 saves to pick up the win. Johnson took the loss despite making 35 saves.
