APPLETON, Wis. -- The Lawrence University football team moved the ball up and down the field on Saturday, but the Vikings got into the end zone only once and Beloit College posted a 21-6 Midwest Conference victory in the Banta Bowl.
Lawrence (0-7, 0-7 MWC) outgained the Bucs (4-4, 3-4) 338-255 and piled up 19 first downs to Beloit's 11. But the Vikings were only 1 of 4 in the red zone and turned the ball over four times.

Beloit blocked a Kyle Gauthier punt in the first quarter and took over at the Lawrence 11-yard line, with Steward scoring on the next play for a 6-0 lead. The Bucs went up 12-0 when Steward completed an 11-play, 93-yard drive with a 4-yard touchdown run.
The Vikings cut that lead in half when Nick Maxam hit Troy McGilligan with a 10-yard scoring pass. The touchdown was set up when Mike Gostisha recovered a Matt Davis fumble at the Beloit 38.
Beloit came right back went 53 yards in nine plays to take an 18-6 lead at the half. Steward completed the drive with a 3-yard scoring run.
Lawrence missed several scoring chances in the second half. The Vikings' Sam Laes had a 34-yard punt return to the Beloit 37, but he fumbled and the Bucs recovered.
Lawrence took its next possession and drove to the Beloit 2 before turning the ball over on downs. In the fourth quarter, Lawrence drove to the Beloit 10, but four straight incomplete passes again turned the ball over on downs. On its final possession, Lawrence drove to the Beloit 3 before Maxam was intercepted at the goal line to end the threat.
