RIPON, Wis. -- Ripon College continues to dominate the state's oldest college football rivalry with a 53-7 win Saturday over Lawrence University at Ingalls Field.
The Red Hawks have now won eight consecutive games in the series and lead the rivalry, which began in 1893, 54-46-7.
Ripon (7-3, 7-2 MWC) rolled up 401 yards of rushing offense and scored three touchdowns in the second quarter to take command. Lawrence (4-5, 4-5), which had won three straight, was limited to 125 yards of offense.
Scott Perkins ran 17 times for 119 yards to pace Ripon's rushing attack. He scored three of Ripon's four first-half touchdowns, as the Red Hawks led 27-0 at the break.
Reserve quarterback Matthew Miller, forced into action when Lawrence knocked out starter Tygh Walters in the first quarter, rushed for three second-half scores.
Lawrence's lone touchdown, a one-yard plunge by Aaron Walker in the fourth quarter, was set up by Derek Micke's 42-catch at the Ripon 4-yard line.
The Vikings wrap up the season next Saturday when they travel to Macalester for a nonconference game.
