Lawrence falls to UW-Stevens Point

AUBURNDALE, Fla. -- Max Mittelstaedt allowed only one hit over six innings and the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point offense pounded out 16 hits in a 7-3 win over Lawrence University on Thursday.

Mittelstaedt struck out six and walked four en route to the win.

Travis Tuschen, Jeremy Richter, Cody Koback, Kevin Thomas, Justin Jirschele and Dan Douglas all had two hits for the Pointers.

Stevens Point scored single runs in each of the first three innings and added a run in the fifth, two more in the sixth and one in the seventh.

Lawrence (1-6) got single runs in the bottom of the first, sixth and seventh.

Freshman pitcher Sam Ausloos went 5 1/3 innings and took the loss. He gave up 10 hits, struck out two and walked four.
