APPLETON, Wis. -- The Lakeland College baseball team got a stellar pitching performance in game one and held off Lawrence University in game two to sweep a nonconference doubleheader by the scores of 13-0 and 10-7 on Wednesday at Don Hawkins Field.
Lee Chepli tossed a three-hit shutout in the opener for Lakeland (8-4). He struck out six and walked one. Conor Heneghan went 3 2/3 innings and took the loss for Lawrence (1-10).
Chepli was backed up by the Muskies' 19-hit attack in game one. Cal Post was one of four Muskies to have three hits, and he also drove in four runs.
The Muskies led 2-0 and broke open the game with six runs in the fourth. Doug Novak hit a two-run homer in the inning. Lakeland added three more runs in the sixth and two more in the seventh.
Lakeland jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the top of the first in game two, but the Vikings battled back in the bottom half of the inning. Nick Pedretti had a two-run single, and Davide Harris drove in Robert Rashid with a sacrifice fly to tie the game at 3-3.
The Muskies added two more runs in the third and two more in the fourth to go up 7-3. The Vikings started chipping away at the lead with a run on Gabe Henriques' run-scoring single in the fourth and an unearned run in the sixth.
Lakeland then got a clutch three-run double from Andy Chitwood in the seventh to take a 10-5 lead.
Lawrence cut the lead to 10-7 when Pedretti stroked a two-run double in the bottom half of the seventh, but that's as close as Lawrence would get.

Garrett Vincetich-Morris went six innings to earn the win. Jake Johnson pitched 6 1/3 innings and took the loss.
