Lawrence University has reached and surpassed its goal of raising $4.5 million for the Banta Bowl Renovation. We are grateful for the leadership of our campaign co-chairs David C. Blowers ’82 and Dr. Charles A. McKee ’68 who provided excellent leadership, our athletics advisory committee and all of our generous donors who made the renovation possible.
On October 17, 2015, Lawrence University celebrated the official reopening and rededication of the renovated Banta Bowl in tandem with the venue’s 50th anniversary. The field was named in honor of Lawrence’s legendary football coach and director of athletics, Ron Roberts. Thanks to the support the college received from alumni, parents, friends and community partners, we now are home to a preeminent multi-sports and multi-purpose venue serving Lawrence and the Fox Cities.
The upgrade will vastly enhance the experience for our current student athletes as well as help us attract and retain high quality students in the future. We are excited for all the ways the new Banta Bowl will impact athletes and the campus, as well as the larger Fox Valley community.
A new Press Box is the final piece for the Banta Bowl renovation and that work will take place in the summer of 2017. The new Press Box will be complete when the Vikings take the field in the fall.
The college continues to seek sustainable support through endowed funds specifically for Vikings Athletics. To learn more about the Banta Bowl renovation and ways to support Lawrence athletics, please contact:
