No stranger to
the "live stage," Brian Koser's experiences as a performer range
from musical theater and symphonic venues to chamber music, commercial work
and jazz. Since graduating from Lawrence University, Northwestern University
and further graduate work at the University of Minnesota, Koser has made numerous
appearances as a guest conductor, clinician and soloist, appearing with serveral
bands and orchestras, and with such artists as Leslie Gore, The 5th Dimension
and The Temptations. While a student at Lawrence and Northwestern, Koser studied
saxophone with Debra Richtmeyer, Steven Jordheim and Fred Hemke. Though classically
trained, he attributes his love of jazz and contemporary music to supportive
parents, early exposure in the public schoolos, and through the mentorship
of individuals such as Fred Sturm (L.U.) and Don Owens (N.U.).
Brian and his wife Pamela reside in Austin, Minnesota and are both employed in the public schools. The couple continue to remain active as solo and duet performers throughout the region.
