The president coordinates the "big picture." She or he schedules and serves as chair of officer meetings. The president takes the lead on educational/informational programs planned by Senior Class Committee as well as acts as the liaison for senior class to administration.

Why do you want to run for office?
I want to run for Senior Class President because I believe I would make a great representative of the various interests, opinions, and legacies that the Senior Class of 2014 has to offer. I am a very connected member of the Lawrence community through various avenues, and I want to increase that connectivity to other areas on campus like alumni affairs and The Lawrence Fund. I am also very enthusiastic and passionate about my time thus far at Lawrence, and want to be able to help in celebrating and continuing the success of the Class of 2014.
What makes you qualified for the position?
In addition to the things I mentioned above, I have a lot of experience that would benefit me as the Senior Class President. I have been an RLA and campus leader for the last two years (this year a Head RLA) which has given me extensive practice in community building, event and program planning, communication, working with a team, delegation, and organization. I am also involved in various organizations on campus and have worked hard to achieve success academically. Most importantly, I like to remain enthusiastic and try to bring some excitement and fun to everything I do.
What’s your favorite idea for next year?
As I have been brainstorming my “favorite idea for next year” I have realized how hard this task is without the input of a group of fellow seniors-to-be with varied interests and ideas. That being said, I hope to work with others in the future to ensure that whatever we do as seniors is the majority’s favorite idea. Anyways, I thought it would be fun to relive what everyone secretly desires: an awkward senior prom complete with all the typical (and awkward) elements. Some may say it is not creative, but I think the point is having a good time with the people you can call your classmates, and more importantly, your friends.

Why do you want to run for office?
The opportunity to work on a team of students who value as much as I do the unity of the class of 2014 and the importance of acquiring a bachelor’s degree from Lawrence University is an opportunity that links to my life on and off-campus as for example: being part of Model United Nations, Kappa Alpha Theta Fraternity, the women’s soccer team, being a former RLA and former board member of Lawrence International. I ought to say, this position truly thrills me personally: as an individual constantly looking to be involved within the Lawrence community.
What makes you qualified for the position?
I am a balanced individual who has held leadership roles on and off campus. Positions such as the Community Building Chair for Lawrence International board and a Press Monitor Intern for the Rio +20 Sustainability conference exemplify my leadership experience. I always had an interest in engaging with the community at Lawrence, although a Lawrence International student, I believe the limits of my social interactions do not pertain only to internationals and does go beyond that scope. One of the reasons for this, is my constant involvement on campus life and campus activities such as MUN, being a residence life advisor and student teaching for the CTL. Finally, I believe my background as an international student who always lived in a bilingual environment - frequently in British and American schools - helps me interact and communicate with internationals and Americans, meaning: the class of 2014.
What’s your favorite idea for next year?
Creating a scholarship for an incoming student, 300,200 and 100 days parties and I am always opened to suggestions.
