A campus visit is your opportunity to get a feel for Lawrence -- our students, faculty, and campus -- so we encourage you to spend at least 3 hours with us to allow time for a personal interview and a campus tour. If you want to visit a class, eat a meal in Downer Commons, or just have time to explore on your own, you'll need more time.
Campus Tour: Led by a current Lawrence student, the one-hour walking tour will take you through all the major academic buildings, the library, student union, and into one of our six residence halls. Tours are offered several times each weekday and on Saturday during the academic year.
Interview: We do not require an interview for admission, but we strongly encourage you to have one, as it provides you a chance to meet one-on-one with an admissions counselor to ask any questions you may have about campus life, academics, and financial aid.
Classes: Most classes are offered Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Major ensembles rehearse in the late afternoon and evening. It is best to avoid visiting classes during the first and last weeks of the term. Classes are not offered in the summer!
Meals: We can arrange for you and your family to eat lunch with a student in one of our two dining halls. If you are staying overnight on campus, we will provide you with additional meal passes, up to a maximum of four.
Personal Meetings: We're happy to make appointments for you to meet with a faculty member or coach, but we do need two weeks' advance notice. We are unable to arrange such meetings during the summer, term breaks, and weekends.
Overnight Stay: We can arrange for a one-night stay in a residence hall Sunday through Thursday nights during the academic year as long as you give us two weeks' notice. We cannot provide an overnight host during exam weeks, term breaks, or on Friday and Saturday nights. Overnight visits in April are reserved exclusively for admitted students.
