What was the final factor that made you say "yes" to LU's offer of admission? |
The 5-year program. I wanted to follow my dreams of becoming a musician without compromising my academic aspirations. The double-degree program allowed me to do this. |
What one thing would you say is “The Lawrence Difference”? |
The student body. I think that we are an eclectic mix of kids; each person has something special and unique that they bring to the community, and I think that we really embrace these differences. |
What is your favorite part about being a Lawrentian? |
I know that I am respected by both my peers and my professors. I know that my opinions matter, and I feel comfortable sharing them. |

Which is your favorite resident hall? |
Ormsby. I love the high ceilings and the wood floors, as well as the community. |
Downer, Lucy’s, or Union Grill, and Downer dining room A, B, or C? |
Lucy’s, because the atmosphere is not very cafeteria-like. |
What is your favorite thing to do in Appleton? |
Drink coffee and hang out at Brewed Awakenings. |

If you were a crayon or paint swatch, what color would you be? |
I would be “Mango Tango”—an appealing combination of deep yellow and vibrant red, united in a luscious swirl of pizzazz and zest. |
What is an uncommon hobby you have, and why do you like it? |
I don’t know if it’s a hobby or not, but I like asking someone I don’t know very well to have a somersault race with me. I guess I like it for two reasons: 1) Most of the time, they say no, and 2) If they do say yes then it tells you something about their personality, that they are willing to take risks and make a fool out of themselves with you. |
What is something LU helped you learn about yourself? |
At first, I was nervous about being so far away from home (I am from Massachusetts and therefore see my family far less frequently than my friends that live relatively nearby), but LU has taught me that I am stronger and more independent than I thought. It really helped me to appreciate the value of friendship, because without my friends I would not have been able to stand the distance away from my family. |
