What is the best course you’ve taken at LU? |
I took a course called “Literature and the Body” that was taught by a Lawrence Fellow, Melanie Boyd. It was a Gender Studies/English course and it was absolutely amazing. It was a class of 8 students and it was entirely reading and discussion based. It was the first class that got me really excited about Gender Studies and Feminist Theory while also introducing me to a number of contemporary authors that merged the boarders between the corporeal world and the world of discourse. It also inspired a tutorial I took with Professor Boyd in the winter on Trauma Theory, which was equally interesting and enriching. |
What is an interesting/helpful fact you learned about LU after you came here? |
You get what you put in. You can make this experience anything you want, Lawrence has all the resources available to you, it just requires an ounce of willingness to put yourself out there and push past your comfort zone. |

Which is your favorite resident hall? |
Orsmby is my favorite residence hall because its old and beautiful and the epitimy of collegiate. Co-op is my favorite house on campus because a lot of my friends live there and thus I get to eat some of yummy organic food that they make, plus they throw the best themes parties on campus. |
Where is your favorite study spot? |
The Library. I pull up two chairs on the first floor and stretch out to read—its also a great nap spot. |
What is your favorite thing to do in Appleton? |
Yoga. I do yoga off campus and I’m absolutely obsessed. Also, snowboarding. I come from the mountains so when I get a chance I like to dirve up north and play in the snow. |

If you were a fruit, which would you be? |
A mango. They are really bright inside and super sweet! |
If you could only eat one type of candy bar for the rest of your life, which would you choose? |
Lollipops! There are so many options and plus, how can you not be happy when you are sucking on a lolly?!? |
What is an uncommon hobby you have, and why do you like it? |
I am really into the outdoors. I enjoy hiking and being dirty in the woods for long periods at a time, especially during the summers. I think I may come off as somewhat of an “indoor girl” but I really like to be out in nature, exploring and being totally free from the world. I think its where I am most happiest. |
