| Who is your favorite professor (and their department) at LU? Why?: | My favorite professor is Professor Sung (Chinese Department) and he is also my adviser. He's the type of professor that wants everything to be very precise, which I think is necessary, especially when learning a language such as Chinese. He's full of knowledge and tries to help his students as best as he can. |
| What is the best course (and its department) that you have taken? Why?: | The best course I've taken so far is Meditation and Virtue (Philosophy). It's made me learn a lot about myself, it has made me aware of things I normally would not even think about, and has led me to be more appreciative. Overall, this course was a huge eye-opener for me and has been extremely humbling. |
| What one thing would you say is “The Lawrence Difference”?: | Freshman Studies- everyone has to take it and it's a good learning experience. It teaches you to speak up during class discussions and definitely makes you a better writer. |
| What is an interesting/helpful fact you learned about LU after you came here?: | Everybody is so different. I've met a ton of cool people who are so talented. Whether it's in art, chemistry, music, anything- you'll probably find someone who's doing something you've never even seen before. |
| Which is your favorite resident hall? Why?: | Sage, which is the residence hall I'm living in for my second year now. It's right next to the Campus Center (super convenient), and it's by most of the club houses on campus which are all fun places to hang out. |
| What is your fondest memory of your roommate from freshman year?: | My roommate and I making soup late at night and watching episode after episode of Southpark. |
| What is something you wish you would have brought with you freshman year?: | I wish I would have brought more blankets. Spring term I spent a lot of time outside and more blankets would have been handy for the chilly nights! |
| What is your favorite study spot on campus?: | My favorite study spot is Union Hill. When the sun is out, I enjoy doing my work outside and relaxing on the fresh, green grass. |
| If you were a fruit, which would you be? Why?: | I would be a persimmon. I don't think I resemble it in any way, I just love to eat them when ripe. They're super tasty, not too sweet and perfect in every way. |
| If you were a crayon or paint swatch, what color would be you? Why?: | I would be "Sunset sky" which would incorporate any and all the colors of the sky when the sun is setting. This way, I could basically be any color I want to be since every sunset is different each day. |
| If you could only eat one type of candy bar for the rest of your life, which would you choose?: | I would probably choose Twix because I love the crunch from the biscuit and the caramel that on top. I think it's the best combination. But I think I would cheat and eat Reese's peanut butter cups too because those are just too good to resist. |
| What is an uncommon hobby you have? Why do you like it?: | A new hobby I have is writing my friends' name using the International Phonetic Alphabet. I'm taking Intro Linguistics this term and I've fallen in love with the International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA for short). So I write their names and decorate the whole card with a ton of colors and cut-out shapes that I get from the Campus Center's 4th floor. It's fun and they're great gifts for your friends! |
