What was the final factor that made you say "yes" to LU's offer of admission? Lawrence just felt right (weird, huh?). There is just so much energy and excitement at Lawrence, both academically and socially.
Who is your favorite professor (and their department) at LU? Why? It is so hard to pick just one professor!
What is the best course (and its department) that you have taken? Why? I love my independent study that I am taking right now, with Bart De Stasio. It is called "Comparative Lakes of Door County." I had an amazing opportunity this summer to research 3 lakes in Door County by means of the Cook Grant. Now, I get to continue with this research in an independent study! I meet with my professor at least once a week and we talk about my progress and we collaborate on current projects.
What one thing would you say is “The Lawrence Difference”? The diversity at Lawrence is outstanding, both in the student population and the faculty.
What is an interesting/helpful fact you learned about LU after you came here? Take advantage of independent studies!! Get to know your professors - they might surprise you.
What is your favorite part about being a Lawrentian? The opportunities are endless here. The opportunity I had to do my own research was unbelievable.

Which is your favorite resident hall? Why? I have been living in Hiett for a few years now. It is so nice living with 3 other people! Sage also has quads, which is awesome.
What is your fondest memory of your roommate from freshman year? I got locked in my room in Coleman and I called my roommate to help me get out. We ended up having to call safety and security to get the doorknob taken off! I never laughed so hard in my life.
What is something you wish you would have brought with you freshman year? Fun things to do like puzzles or books. I thought I wouldn't have time to do/use these things; however, sometimes it is really nice to relax with a puzzle or sit down with your favorite book. If you having trouble deciding what to bring to college, bring it! You might want it.
What do you find most exciting about the new Campus Center? I love to study in the cafe! You can socialize, but also get work done.
What is your favorite study spot on campus? Brewed Awakenings, now Aspen Coffee, which is 2 blocks away from campus. I can spend hours in there. The atmosphere is great and you always meet someone you know there.
What is your favorite thing to do in Appleton? I have my horse in Kaukauna, which is about a 15 minute drive. It is great having him nearby. I also love hanging out in the coffee shops downtown, including Harmony Cafe, Brewed Awakenings, Starbucks, or Copper Rock. There is also a farmer's market on Saturday, which allows you to buy local, amazing produce.

If you were a fruit, which would you be? Why? Kiwi - I just like saying it.
If you were a crayon or paint swatch, what color would be you? Why? If I had to choose a color, I would be either white or black, depending on if you think black or white is all the colors together. Boring, perhaps, but being all the colors would be amazing. I am sure you can imagine!
If you could only eat one type of candy bar for the rest of your life, which would you choose? I am not a huge candy fan.
What is an uncommon hobby you have? Why do you like it? I love showing horses. The relationship that you can have with an animal is so strong - winning is really nice, but the progress that I can make with my horse is what makes it really fun.
What is something LU helped you learn about yourself? Lawrence has really taught me to say, "Yes I can." My confidence has gotten much better and I have accomplished more at Lawrence than I ever thought I would.
