| Who is your favorite professor (and their department) at LU? Why?: | Professor Sedlock (Biology) has really motivated me and made me realize what I want to pursue in life. She is a tropical field ecologist who has studied bats in the Philippines! Her enthusiasm makes every class enjoyable and her lectures are never dull. |
| What is the best course (and its department) that you have taken? Why?: | Freshman Studies. The works we study are so unique and perplexing. Professors are randomly assigned, and in many cases, both students and professors alike discuss and dig deep into life's unanswered questions. It is a very open an inviting atmosphere, and challenging as well. |
| What is an interesting/helpful fact you learned about LU after you came here?: | Classics Professor Hiram Jones dropped dead on the spot while teaching his Latin class in Main Hall in 1898! His classroom served as Lawrence's entire library at the time and classes are still taught there today. Go check it out! |
| Which is your favorite resident hall? Why?: | I adore Colman, mostly because of the many memories there freshman year. It's on its own side of campus and you get a nice view of the river. The atmosphere is also very laid back and inviting. Colmanites rule. |
| What is something you wish you would have brought with you freshman year?: | Fortunately, I only live 20 minutes away, however, for the long distance traveler, one thing worth remembering is winter apparel. Multiple pairs of gloves, scarves, down feather jacket. Cross country skis are optional(you'll understand the joke when February hits us). |
| What is your favorite study spot on campus?: | Most recently, the 3rd floor of the Mudd Library, although the fancy skydeck located on the third floor of the Steitz Hall of Science atrium is a nice place to unwind. It even comes complete with entertaining holograms on the wall. Not advised on a hot Spring term day, though. You will melt. |
| What is your favorite thing to do in Appleton?: | Hip-hop Yoga at Empower Yoga. It really exists. |
| If you were a crayon or paint swatch, what color would be you? Why?: | I'd be a Caribbean Green crayon because I really wouldn't mind leaving the frigid cold and heading straight for the Bahamas. |
| If you could only eat one type of candy bar for the rest of your life, which would you choose?: | Almond Joy. Sweet AND healthy. Kid tested, mother approved. |
| What is an uncommon hobby you have? Why do you like it?: | I collect PEZ dispensers and lots of them. They're just too cute. Honestly, who doesn't love PEZ? |
| What was your favorite theme party thrown this year at LU, and what did you dress as?: | I missed the Fall term festivities last term while I was studying abroad in Costa Rica, but it would definitely have to be the classic Sig Ep Togas and Techno party. |
