Favorite books: A Tale for the Time Being by Ruth Ozeki, Difficult Women by Roxane Gay, Accordion Crimes by Annie Proulx (honestly, I’m always reading something, these are just my most recent favorites!)
Favorite food: chips and salsa, the spicier the better!
Hobbies: music improvisation, reading, cooking, volunteering
Favorite "Lawrence Minute" video: Micro-Opera (this was one of the most impactful performances I was involved in as a student)
When you visit Appleton, be sure to: Take a stroll downtown, by the river, in the historic neighborhood behind the Conservatory. This is a beautiful city with lots of public art and local businesses, and it’s an important part of what makes Lawrence so special.
When you visit Lawrence, check out: The Chapel. If you can, go in the afternoon when the light is coming through the stained glass windows or when one of our large ensembles is rehearsing. It’s one of the best places on campus.
Favorite Appleton restaurant: Basil Café or Harmony Pizza
Three words to describe Lawrentians: Engaged, supportive, passionate
Advice to prospective Lawrentians: Be yourself, ask questions, and embrace trying new things and making mistakes. College is all about self-discovery, and the best way to learn about yourself is to try things you’ve never done before while learning from others along the way.
