Academic Scholarships

The four most prestigious academic scholarships Lawrence awards to incoming students are the Warch Scholarship, the Trustee Scholarship, the Presidential Scholarship, and the Alumni Scholarship. Applicants receive notification of scholarship decisions along with the letter of admission.

Lawrence will automatically consider your completed, on-time application for academic scholarships. No additional information, essays or paperwork is required. Scholarships are awarded based upon an assessment of the information presented in the application folder -- high school record, essay, recommendations, standardized test scores (only required for the Warch Scholarship, optional for all other scholarships), and extracurricular achievements.

Warch Scholarship - $15,000 per year
The Richard Warch scholarship, our top academic scholarship, is named in honor of Lawrence's 14th president who served the University from 1979 to 2004. It is the only scholarship that has specific requirements, and is also the only scholarship to require the submission of test scores. Applicants must:

1.

Be ranked in the top 4% of their class, or, if their school does not provide rankings, have at least a 3.90 (on a 4-point scale) unweighted GPA in academic courses.
  2. Have an average score of 30 on the ACT or combined score of 1980 on the SAT.

Trustee Scholarship - $12,000 per year
Presidential Scholarship - $9,000 per year
Alumni Scholarship - $7,000 per year
The Trustee, Presidential, and Alumni Scholarships are awarded to the top students based on the quality of the applicant pool, rather than fixed criteria. Test scores are not requried to receive any of these scholarships.
