Merit Based Financial Aid

Lawrence recognizes and values the academic and musical achievements of its college and conservatory applicants by providing merit scholarships of up to $15,000 per year to our most qualified students.

You will be considered for all merit awards without regard to financial need, although merit awards do become an integral part of your financial aid package if you qualify for need-based aid. You may be considered for more than one type of Lawrence scholarship but will receive only the largest Lawrence-sponsored scholarship for which you qualify. If you qualify for a National Merit and/or Wisconsin State Excellence Award, these scholarships may be added (or stacked if you want to talk the lingo) on top of a Lawrence specific scholarship.

To be considered for scholarships at Lawrence, you must meet stated admission application deadlines. Academic scholarships will be awarded based on the merit of your application and, in the case of music awards, an audition. The qualifications for most scholarships vary from year to year depending on the quality of the applicant pool. Scholarships are renewable subject to specific criteria described in the scholarship award letter.
