
Lawrence has a program with Rush-Presbyterian-St. Luke's Medical Center in Chicago offering joint programs in the liberal arts and allied health sciences. These opportunities are available in both nursing and medical technology.
In the 3-2 option (three years at Lawrence, two years at Rush Medical Center), which leads to a B.A. degree from Lawrence and a B.S. degree with a major in nursing or medical technology from Rush, you will take a broad program in the social sciences and humanities, as well as specific science courses during the first three years at Lawrence. In the two years at Rush, you will undertake further course work and clinical training.
If you are interested in pursuing the nursing program, you must complete Principles of Biology, General Zoology, Principles of Chemistry: Structure and Reactivity, Principles of Chemistry: Energetics and Dynamics, Developmental Psychology, Elementary Statistics, and two additional social science courses.
Students in the medical technology program must complete Principles of Biology, General Zoology, Principles of Chemistry: Structure and Reactivity, Principles of Chemistry: Energetics and Dynamics, Analytical Chemistry, Organic Chemistry I, Elementary Statistics, and one other biology course.
The remainder of your course work is completed in a variety of departments. You must fulfill all the general education requirements and the requirements for your major before leaving Lawrence.
