Appleton is consistently ranked as one of the five safest metropolitian areas in America. In addition to the safety of the city, Lawrence Security is on-call 24 hours a day, seven days a week (including holidays and vacation weeks).  They patrol campus and offer escorts across campus if a student ever feels uncomfortable at night.  Security also does rounds in every building at night as well as patroling the neighborhood surrounding campus.
