Students arrive at Lawrence with a wide variety of theatre experiences. Many have had a high-school experience of working in theatre productions and hope to continue enjoying that, while others see their college years as the first step toward a career in the theatre. For the first group, the department produces a wide variety of musicals and plays and sponsors a theatre club. For the second, the faculty has designed a curriculum that allows students to deepen their general knowledge of the field while beginning the process of specialization.
