"I have a lifelong love of all types of museums and always wanted to work at one.  Although I didn't complete a formal internship while at Lawrence, I did volunteer at the Outagamie County Historical Society [now The History Museum at the Castle] for three years, staffing the front desk for a weekly shift and helping out at special events.  I decided to go straight to graduate school in order to get more academic credentials and practical training for a museum career.  My background in ancient art at Lawrence led to an graduate internship at the Milwaukee Art Museum, which developed into a full-time job and eventual promotion to assistant curator.  Now, I get to do work every day that I absolutely love: organize exhibitions, research the collection, write for the blog, give lectures and tours, and mentor interns."
