The Lawrence application forms may be obtained online (below), but must be completed in hard copy and filed with the Off-Campus Programs office in the International House by the stated deadline. It is the student's responsibility to make sure all application materials (including all recommendation forms and any other materials required by the particular affiliated program) are submitted by the deadline. The Off-Campus Programs Coordinator, Laura Zuege, is available at the International House to assist students with everything from selecting a program to the application process. Appointments are suggested - please use this form to schedule a meeting.
Lawrence application materials include:
-
The proposal cover sheet (first page of application form) which includes information on the program, term, and course selection.
-
Essays. Remember that many of our programs are competitive. The essays should be written with great care. Click here for essay writing tips.
-

-
Academic recommendation form from a faculty member other than the student's advisor
-
Language Proficiency Report required for applications to off-campus programs requiring previous language instruction
-
Student Acknowledgment of Recommendation for Financial Aid Meeting form. Students should contact the Financial Aid office to make an appointment.

Transcript Request for Affiliated OCP). Students do not need to request an official transcript if applying to Senegal or the London Centre.
-
For affiliated programs: The program's application forms and all supporting materials are due to the Off-Campus Programs office by the Lawrence application deadline. The official transcript you request from the Registrar's Office will be included with the program application and you do not have to request additional transcripts for the program application. Faculty recommendation forms for the program's application should be sent to the Off-Campus Programs Office. After the on-campus application review process, those applications gaining Lawrence's support will be sent on to the program for their final admissions decision
The Lawrence application requires that students list proposed course selections, which should be chosen in consultation with their academic advisor. Please consult the
Credit, Course Load, and Grade Info Sheet for guidance on how credit from off-campus study programs will be translated back to your Lawrence record.
Students are advised to have their essays and application reviewed by as many trusted eyes as possible, but especially by those of the academic advisor(s). Good essays, productive course selections, supportive letters of recommendation, strong overall applications, and the delivery of transcripts all take time. Plan ahead as it is never too early to start this process.
Strong recommendations from faculty and advisors are essential for a successful student application to study off-campus. Faculty perceptions of where the off-campus program fits in the student's overall academic career are important, as are assessments of the potential benefits the student will gain through off-campus study. Thoughtful commentary about the student's language skills, where appropriate, is in the student's best interest. Faculty should feel free to complete recommendations by hand or by typing into the Word documents below. Students should be considerate of the time it takes to give a thoughtful recommendation and distribute forms at least a week in advance of the deadline.
Before you select an application form to download, please heed these words of advice: map your academic plans before you look at a map of the world. When selecting an off-campus program, please reflect carefully upon your personal development and academic objectives and find the program that appropriately matches your future goals and your academic preparations.
