Philip Low, the only non-Lawrence graduate participating in the program, is the Ralph C. Corley Distinguished Professor–Biochemistry. A specialist in membrane structure and function, his research lab is investigating the human red blood cell membrane, the development of targeted therapeutics and the development of techniques for pathogen detection.

University of Pennsylvania

Dr. Andrew Binns is a 1971 graduate of Lawrence. The Carolyn Hoff Lynch Professor of Biology, Binns' research lab explores the initiation of plant transformation mediated by the soil bacterium Agrobacterium.

Mayo Clinic

David Katzmann graduated from Lawrence in 1991. An assistant professor of biochemistry and molecular biology, he studies cell surface receptors and the molecular mechanisms that control the intracellular trafficking of activated receptors.

University of Wisconsin-Madison

Patrick Eagan, a 1972 Lawrence graduate, is a professor in the department of engineering professional development, specializing in industrial ecology. His research focuses on frameworks that can move public and private institutions toward "sustainable development" and how those institutions will deal with climate change effects and environmental management issues.

University of Utah

Kurt Albertine, a 1975 Lawrence graduate, is a professor of pediatrics in the neonatology division at the University of Utah School of Medicine. His research interests focus on neonatal chronic lung disease.

Dr. Bruce Cleeremans is a 1975 graduate of Lawrence. A specialist in neurological drug action, Dr. Cleeremans is a former chief of staff at Irvine Regional Hospital and Medical Center.

University of Georgia

Dr. Debra Mohnen, a 1979 graduate of Lawrence, is professor of biochemistry and molecular biology at the University of Georgia's Complex Carbohydrate Research Center. Her research interests include modification of plant cell walls to improve biomass for biofuel production.

University of New Mexico Cancer Center

Dr. Stuart Winter is a 1983 Lawrence graduate. He is the division chief of the pediatric hematology and oncology group at the University of New Mexico's Cancer Center.

University of Missouri

Scott Peck, a 1988 Lawrence graduate, is an associate professor of biochemistry, specializing in plant cell biology. His research lab studies how potential plant hosts recognize and respond to invading microbes, particularly bacteria.

University of Minnesota-Duluth

Donn Branstrator, a 1987 Lawrence graduate, is an associate professor of biology. His research interests focus on the ecology and evolution of zooplankton and the work in his lab specializes in large plankton predators in pelagic food webs.

Michigan State University

David Arnosti, a 1982 Lawrence graduate, is an associate professor of biochemistry, specializing in molecular genetics. His research focuses on understanding gene regulation processes in animals.
