The Off-Campus Programs office organized a photo show of students who have studied or are studying off-campus. Winners were determined by balloted voting during the show.

The photo show was held in the library October 15th thru 20th and was a featured part of the Capital Campaign Kickoff Weekend. The Capital Campaign is an effort to raise $150 million for Lawrence that will go toward completion of the new campus center, renovations of Downer and the current Union, as well as increasing Lawrence's endowment for things like student scholarships.  This Kickoff Weekend was paired with Fall Festival and many distinguished friends and donors of Lawrence were on campus taking part in Fall Festival activities, tours the campus center, a student activities fair and seeing various student exhibitions and presentations. This photo show was a way to show fellow students, Fall Festival visitors, and the Capital Campaign Kickoff Weekend guests what off-campus studying has meant to these students and their Lawrence experience.

Please keep in mind the following categories as you are submitting photo(s). We'd really like to show your off-campus experience in action as well as a good quality photo.

Photo Contest Categories:

- More Light! - This category incorporates the 'More Light!' theme of the capital campaign. Interesting, creative, and artistic use of light will be considered.
- Cultural immersion - your interactions with local people, your host family, local customs or festivals, local food, internship and/or volunteer work, unique facets of your program or means of connecting with your host community
- Places -  course work and field trips, landmarks, rural or natural beauty, architecture, urban settings, travel you might have done, etc.

Please keep in mind that the aim of this photo show was to not only feature photos of where these students have been, but to also show how the Lawrence experience has been augmented by studying abroad.  Quality photo composition and setting are a part of this but we also wanted to see student immersion into the local culture and interactions with people.

* After the submission deadline, we will pre-jury photos for content appropriate to the above guidelines.  Depending on quantity and quality of entries, some photos may not be used in the final display.
