Lawrence University London Centre Ruby Jubilee: Celebrating 40 Years of Lawrence in London

London Centre 40th Anniversary Survey (Word)

In 1970, a far-sighted group of educators at Lawrence University decided to offer something new and exciting to its students: the opportunity to study at a dedicated Lawrence London Centre, where students would live and learn together in one of the world’s great cities.

The academic year 2010-2011, therefore, marks the 40th Anniversary of Lawrence’s London Centre study abroad program and we are planning a unique celebration of this milestone with our Ruby Jubilee Project.

Over the next months we will be calling on as many as possible of the people who have contributed to and benefited from the London Centre to help us create the Ruby Jubilee Chronicle, a memory book of this great Lawrence institution.  We are calling on generations of Lawrence students who have attended the Centre, faculty who have taught there, directors, administrators, and all the people who have helped make it such a unique and rewarding part of Lawrence’s educational mission.

As a past participant of the Lawrence University London Centre, we need your memories and reminiscences, your anecdotes, triumphs, disasters; we want to know how the London Centre affected, perhaps changed, your life.  Give us your travel stories, your all-nighters to complete that final paper, classes you remember, perhaps even those you’d rather forget!  How did you handle life in your London ‘digs’? And let’s see the evidence.  Send us your photographs (digital or old fashioned prints), diaries, or other mementos of your time in London.

We have prepared a survey to help organise your thoughts and we would be very grateful if you would take a little time to think about your London Centre, and then fill out and return the survey.  Please feel free to complete as much or as little as you wish.   Please return the survey by February 28, 2011.

The survey is available below in a Word document. Please save this to your computer, type your responses in the survey, and email it to LUOffCampusPrograms@gmail.com.  If you would prefer, you could instead print and complete the survey by hand and mail it to the address at the bottom of the survey.

Many thanks in advance for taking the time to share your London Centre experiences for this project.
