Sustainable Lawrence University Gardens (SLUG)

The Sustainable Lawrence University Gardens grew out of projects developed by students of Associate Professor of Geology, Jeff Clark. Planning was then handed over to students in the form of an Environmental Studies symposium course centered around sustainable agriculture. Twenty upper classmen Environmental Studies majors and minors were given individual projects researching various facets of garden implementation. Guest experts visited to provide commentary on the project's development. Students also worked closely with university departments such as Physical Plant and Food Services to ensure campus-wide support.
